La Liga - Round 29: Real Madrid CF vs FC Barcelona
Phew! What a Match!! Just watched the Barcelona vs Madrid encounter where Neymar shone outstandingly despite not scoring a goal. Where is my manners? Hello everybody and welcome back to my bi-weekly journal on my hospital adventures and Neymar's Barcelona adventures. Anyways let's move on to today's topic, If my future career as a Cardiologist does not work out, what will my Plan B be? That is an interesting question I have there, and to be completely honest that is something that I have not exactly thought about in depth. However, now that I think about it, if my career as a Cardiologist does not work out, I might be working as a Cardiac Technician or maybe a General Physician. The reason that my Plan B is still in the medical field is because, I am passionate about medicine and strive to learn more about it and eventually pursue a career in it. Now what about Neymar, if Neymar wasn't a soccer player who played for FC Barcelona or FC Santos, where would he be right now? What would he be doing right now? Well in an interview 2 months ago, Neymar had talked about his passion about football and how he would never stop playing the game, no matter if he plays for a small team or a well-known one. Why does he believe so? Well, I could give you the answer now and you wouldn't read the rest; so I will tell you later. Let's move on to my hospital experiences for now and then into Neymar's experiences for Barcelona!
In these past two weeks at the hospital, there weren't any specific stand-out events but it certainly wasn't "lame or boring" it was above average to say the least. Unlike usual days, there wasn't too much of excitement when you walked in to the hospital, but what really matters is what happened inside the hospital. So far there have been many experiences, some good and some bad. However, just recently every task that I do makes me more and more sure that this is the field that I want to go into. Medicine is my passion and it will always be my passion, why do I say this? Well I have really enjoyed working in the hospital and learned a lot about how to work well with others (co-workers, supervisors, and patients). Sure there were some really bad experiences, such as the time when I was cleaning one of the holters monitors wires and it literally smelled like "shit"! Yes it smelled like literal shit, I had to put on three pairs of gloves on both hands before cleaning that, we ended up throwing it away. It still was an interesting experience for me. Anyways now lets move on to some interesting news about Neymar at FC Barcelona.
Neymar has been preforming well above average, and is playing second fiddle to Lionel Messi with some great assists and passing. But that's not all his goal tally is certainly up there. Lets break down the Barcelona vs Madrid game up, into the main highlights. It was the 6th minute Neymar is sprinting down the left wing, and passes it to Messi who through-balls it to Iniesta for the first goal. The crowd was erupting with happiness, only to be silenced with a double strike from Benzema in 10 minutes; making the score 2-1. Pressure was on Barcelona and Neymar did a perfect lobbed through ball to Messi who finished with a perfect strike to make it 2-2 going into the half-time interval. It was the 63rd minute and Ronaldo was fouled outside the penalty box and the referee pointed towards a penalty (a controversial decision) and Ronaldo scored from the spot! Then It was the 73rd minute and Neymar was in on goal just about to take a shot when he was taken down by Ramos who got a Red Card and Messi scored form the penalty spot. The game was all but over when Messi scored once more via another penalty shot and Barcelona had one the El Clasico. Surely it was a great game, and 3 of the goals occurred due to Neymar's assists; needless to say he was the main play-maker of this game. Anyways moving on to Neymar's opinion about a different career, Neymar has stated in an interview that he will not play another sport or take any other career, as "Football is his life". What a powerful quote and he has been proving his dedication towards it with some great ability on the pitch. He has definitely had some rough patches when he was injured with an ankle injury but he was able to get back out there and prove himself.
All in all, This was a great week for both experiences off and on the pitch from Neymar and some great inspiration for me to continue going into the Medical field and to not give up, no matter what the circumstances may be! Sure there were some tough times, but all that matters is that I was able to get over the rough patches and move on just like Neymar did. It was a great El Clasico match and we hope for more unforgettable games in the future and until then Adios from the Camp Nou and have a great day.
